The entry into a great profession.

We offer young people a one-year internship in our daycare centers as preparation for the 3-year training program for childcare specialists with a Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency, for career guidance or as an FMS internship. Important to know: familea guarantees all interested interns a training position if they are suitable.

During the internship you will work in one of our daycare centers. Through your care, the children learn to develop and evolve in a playful way. In addition to shining children's eyes, familea offers you much more. With an internship, your social commitment pays off. It is our goal that you have a future with us after your internship. If you are suitable, we will give you the opportunity to complete the 3-year training program to become a childcare specialist with us.

Childcare is seen as a supplement to the family or school environment.

Qualified childhood educators care for, educate and raise children in family and school supplementary care programs. They design the pedagogical work as continuity between family and institution and work in partnership with the parents as well as the legal representatives. Among other things, they develop pedagogical concepts of the institution evidence-based, based on observation, analysis and knowledge or carry out projects in the institution.

The Childhood Education HF belongs to tertiary level B and can be completed in three or four years, depending on previous education. A completed education at secondary level 2 (vocational apprenticeship or secondary school) is required.

4-year study

• Vocational apprenticeship with Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) or completion of a recognized secondary school. In the case of purely school-based previous education, one year of professional practice is required.
• Passed aptitude test of the Higher Technical College for Childhood Education
• Preliminary internship in the professional field of child education of at least 6 months (800 hours).
• Practical recommendation for the training "dipl. Kindheitspädagogin HF / dipl. Kindheitspädagoge HF".

3-year study

• Federal certificate of proficiency in care or equivalent training
• Passed aptitude test of the Higher Technical College for Childhood Education
• Practical recommendation for the training "dipl. Kindheitspädagogin HF / dipl. Kindheitspädagoge HF".

Open up perspectives for children and young people.

For adults with a baccalaureate degree, the training to become a social pedagogue FH lasts 3 years (full-time training) or 4 years (practical training). The individual schools provide information about details and admission criteria for people with other previous education.

Requirements for training as a social pedagogue FH

A vocational, technical or grammar school baccalaureate (in the professional field of social work), at least 1 year of professional experience

Training with a recognized professional qualification

For adults with a recognized professional qualification, the training to become a social pedagogue HF takes 3 to 4 years. Professionals from the social sector with a recognized qualification as a care specialist EFZ can complete the training to become a social pedagogue HF in 2-3 years.

Requirements for training as a social pedagogue HF

Completion of at least 3 years of basic vocational training. In the case of purely school-based training, 1 year of professional experience is required. A preliminary internship in the social pedagogical field of at least 800 hours (exception: care specialist EFZ), impeccable reputation and no criminal records incompatible with the profession.

Activities at familea as a social pedagogue

familea runs 1 children's home and 1 transitional home. They support and care for school children and adolescents from difficult social backgrounds according to the caregiver principle. They work closely with the specialists involved (school, therapy, etc.). They hold regular discussions with family members, the referring authorities and the legal representatives accompanying the case. In individual and group meetings, they reflect on development processes, agree on goals and discuss conflicts. They write reports and take on administrative tasks.

Via catch-up training to basic training as a childcare specialist

The catch-up training at familea is another way to obtain a professional qualification with a Federal Certificate of Proficiency. Here, with several years of professional experience, you can catch up on your childcare specialist qualification by taking the same exam as apprentices with an apprenticeship contract, with the appropriate preparation.
