The familea Center for Foster Children bundles services in the field of foster care for foster families and referring specialist agencies from BS and BL. The coaching of foster relationships includes the acquisition, training and placement of foster families as well as the professional support of foster relationships with a focus on the best interests of the child at the placement location.

Foster families of the Center for Foster ChildrenÂ
familea's Center for Foster Children Northwestern Switzerland supports around 200 vetted and trained foster families from its own placement pool, who offer children and adolescents protection, security and a perspective through reliable family relationships when care in the family of origin is temporarily not possible for various reasons. We are always looking for foster families to expand our pool.

For assigning bodies
We work with over 200 selected, trained foster families who are recognized by the cantonal authorities. The great diversity of families enables us to make a targeted and professionally justified selection in the case of placement requests.
We advise referring specialists on the question of whether placement in a foster family or in an inpatient facility is indicated. We would be happy to inform you about our working methods and approaches.
Children residing in Switzerland from birth to the age of 18 who are temporarily or long-term unable to live with their family of origin are admitted to foster families.
