The individuality and the possibility of self-efficacy of the child are central to us at the Kita Appenzellerstrasse. We offer age-homogeneous groups so that we can respond to the individual developmental steps of the children.
In a large house in Basel-Stadt, we address - through diverse spaces and offerings - this individuality and allow the children to experiment and develop freely.
For this purpose, we use, among other things, the various educational rooms (creative studio, workroom, role play and construction room) as well as our large garden with pool. Once a week we offer a forest day.
We practice open and transparent communication with parents in our daily interactions. The cooperation, which is based on a trusting and cooperative relationship, has a positive effect on the child's development. The pedagogical concept of familea is oriented in such a way that each child can develop his or her social competence, personal responsibility and autonomy in an age-appropriate manner through free play and group activities. The pedagogical work is based on the methodology of the education and learning stories (BULG).
