On the international World Cleanup Day 2022, kindergartens, schools, communities, clinic patients, refugees, footballers, hotel employees, business people, club members and politicians in Switzerland joined forces to care for their environment.
Worldwide, more than 20 million people in over 191 countries participated in World Cleanup Day this year, removing 53 thousand tons of trash from nature. In doing so, they sent a strong signal for a clean, healthy and plastic waste-free environment.
Our familea children along with their caregivers, daycare center directors and Fossil staff were there on 9/21-22.
The children of the Kita Annator, Rebgasse, Theodor, Wiesenschanze and Garbenstrasse met at Dreirosen leisure center. The children of Kita Ryffstrasse and Wasgenring were out and about in Kannfeldpark. The Kita Lehenmattstrasse took care of a clean neighborhood. Fully equipped with new work gloves and garbage bags, they jointly cleaned the streets and walkways, playgrounds and lawns of trash. The children showed a lot of interest in waste separation and asked why so much trash is just lying around. In their work, they enjoyed good support from familea and Fossil employees.
After the work was done, the Fossil team offered us a delicious snack with lots of fruit and vegetables, which everyone ate with pleasure. During the snack there were many conversations with the children about the environment and the ways of recycling. It was a meaningful, hardworking and educational afternoon.
